About the Academics of Berkeley University. Berkeley is a large research university, mainly residential with a majority of enrollments in undergraduate programs but also offering comprehensive doctoral graduate programs. The university has been accredited by the Association of Western Colleges and Colleges and the University Commission Association since 1949. The University is one of only two UC campuses operating on the semester calendar (the other is UC Merced). Berkeley offers 106 Bachelor degrees, 88 Masters Degrees, 97 doctoral programs that focus on research and 31 postgraduate degrees that are professionally focused. The University provides 7,565 Bachelor degrees, 2,610 Masters or Professionals and 930 Doctoral degrees in 2013-2014.

The Bancroft Library also houses Mark Twain Papers, Oral History Center, Papyri Tebtunis Center, and University Archives.

Postgraduate and Professional Programs
Berkeley has a "comprehensive" graduate program with high coexistence with programs offered to undergraduate students, but no medical school. The university offers postgraduate degrees in the fields of Master of Art, Master of Science, Master of Fine Art, and Ph.D. in addition to professional degrees such as Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration.
