1. Events and attractions

There is always something done and happening on the Berkeley University campus. Shows, shows and more are open to all.
  • Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives. BAMPFA opens its new door in downtown Berkeley! Art, film and archive material exhibitions are now open.
  • Botanical Garden. The 34 acre research park and non-profit museum UC Berkeley offers more than 13,000 factories from around the world. This park was founded in 1890 and is open to the public throughout the year.
  • California Memorial Stadium. A total renovation has changed Berkeley's historic stadium. Find out about available tours.
  • Cal performances. Cal Performances presents, gives commissions, and produces artistic performances from musicians, dancers, drama writers and many more famous in the world.
  • Campanile tour. Climb the bell tower and the third highest clock in the world. The observation platform, located 200 feet above, provides a spectacular view of the campus and Bay Area. The Carillon concert is held every day during the day.
  • Lawrence Hall of Science. The UC Berkeley public science center gives parents, children and educators the opportunity to engage with science.
  • Lower Sproul. Lower Sproul has a completely new life. Recently redesigned, the new Lower Sproul is the center of campus activities.
  • Lunch Poetry. Former US poet Robert Hassan invited all to hear members of the campus community read their favorite poems during lunch hours at the Morrison Library.
  • Magnes collection. Explore artwork, exhibits, texts and objects from the Magnes Collection of Jewish art and life.
  • Daytime concerts. The Music Department presents a series of free weekly concerts every semester. Music students and community musicians appear every Wednesday at Hertz Hall.
  • Sports events. This is the Bear area. Root for the Golden Bears, win 87 national championship teams, on your favorite shows.
  • Sproul Plaza. Take a walk through the social heart of the Berkeley campus, where students meet and communities gather to voice opinions, raise awareness and pay homage to the Free Talk Movement.
  • Strawberry Creek. Strawberry Creek forks in the North and South meet on the Berkeley campus and flow west to San Francisco Bay. Bridges and trails follow the river throughout the campus.

  • Rec Sports Universal Locker Room. On September 26, 2018, Recreational Sports completed the construction of a 4,500 square foot new universal dressing room.
