Natural Features at the University of California, Berkeley. Flowing to the main campus are two branches of Strawberry Creek. The southern fork enters the upstream culvert from the recreation complex at the mouth of Strawberry Canyon and passes under the California Memorial Stadium before reappearing at the Glade Faculty. Then walk through the center of the campus before disappearing underground in the western end of the campus. The northern fork appears just east of University House and stretches through a swamp north of the Valley Life Sciences Building, the original Campus Arboretum site.
The campus is located in Hayward Fault, which runs directly through the California Memorial Stadium. There is ongoing construction to repair the stadium. "Trees" protests around the controversy of felling trees by the stadium to build a Athletes High Performance Center. Because the stadium sits right on top of the fault, this raises campus concerns about the safety of student athletes in the event of an earthquake when they train at facilities under the stadium.

Through the Office of Sustainability and Energy, UC Berkeley works to implement sustainability initiatives on campus. The University encourages environmentally friendly purchases if possible and install energy-saving technologies. UC Berkeley has a green building policy.
